Christmas in the Ark
03:10
|
|||
Christmas is a time for us to come together
Like Noah and his sons and all the birds with feathers
Who sat down in the ark
And huddled in the dark
Until they got the Christmas tree to light
With candles that burned so very bright
All they had for music was the sound of raindrops
That poured out from the sky and tapped against the roof top
But then they had a thought
Let’s turn this wretched spot
Into a place where we can sing with mirth
Anticipating our Messiah’s birth
Go into the Ark you righteous man
Taking two of all that stands
Swims and floats and flaps their wings
And trust me for what tomorrow brings
Things may seem bleak as they now stand
But know the world is in my hand
I’ll send my son to save mankind
He’ll set free what sin does bind
At first the animals were as sad as rain clouds
They huddled in the corner under darkness’ shroud
But then the Christmas songs
Showed them that they belonged
They came out to join festivities
Foreshadowing the nativity
Once they started singing, they felt free to dance and
Twirl around the ask as if God were present
To walk along beside
And he will be their guide
To lead them to the land of plentiful
Where bellies and wine presses are full
Go into the Ark you righteous man
Taking two of all that stands
Swims and floats and flaps their wings
And trust me for what tomorrow brings
Things may seem bleak as they now stand
But know the world is in my hand
I’ll send my son to save mankind
He’ll set free what sin does bind
The wise men were a witness
Christ was born and he is Christmas

The Christmas Cow
02:45
|
|||
Once in a while the Christmas Cow will sing Moo
Once in a while the Christmas Cow will sing Moo
Maybe sometimes there’ll be milk on the table
You can thank the Christmas Cow
Maybe sometimes they’ll be milk with your cookies
You can thank the Christmas Cow
If you see some milk, you’ll hear the cow sing Moo
If you see some milk, you’ll hear the cow sing Moo
The Christmas Cow was there when Jesus was born
That’s why he’s the Christmas Cow
The Christmas Cow was there when Jesus was a baby
That’s why he’s the Christmas Cow
And that’s why the Christmas Cow sings Moo
And that’s why the Christmas Cow sings Moo
The Christmas Cow sang moo in the manger that night
He was such a good Christmas Cow
He was the perfect Christmas Cow
And tonight he’ll sing Moo
And tonight he’ll sing Moo
And tonight he’ll sing Moo

The Fallow Deer
01:56
|
|||
The Fallow Deer
How lovely he
With horns
Just like
A Christmas tree
That is
If you put
Spangles on
And tinsel on
And bangles on
And he’s as gentle
As can be
So meek
So mild
That any child
Can feed him with
Her hand
And stand
And stare
He doesn’t
Care
And stand
And stare
He doesn’t
Care
You ask me
Why they call him fallow
It is
Because
He’s kind of yallow
When he is young
He has a dapple
And
O
My
How
He
Loves
An
Apple.
And
O
My
How
He
Loves
An
Apple.

The Friendly Beasts
03:42
|
|||
Jesus our brother, strong and good
Was humbly born in a stable rude
And the friendly beasts around him stood
Jesus our brother, strong and good
I, said the donkey, shaggy and brown,
I carried his mother up hill and down;
I carried his mother to Bethlehem town.
I, said the donkey, shaggy and brown.
I, said the cow, all white and red
I gave him my manger for his bed;
I gave him my hay to pillow his head.
I, said the cow, all white and red.
I, said the sheep with curly horn,
I gave him my wool for his blanket warm;
He wore my coat on Christmas morn.
I, said the sheep with curly horn.
I, said the dove from the rafters high,
I cooed him to sleep so that he would not cry;
We cooed him to sleep, my mate and i.
I, said the dove from the rafters high.
Thus all the beasts by some good spell
In the stable dark were glad to tell
Of the gifts they gave Emmanuel,
The gifts they gave Emmanuel.

The Coveted Cat
05:32
|
|||
I saw a cat when I opened my front door
When he saw me he ran under the porch
What happens after he runs away?
I don’t know, I didn’t have time to stay
So instead I left a tray of cream
When I came back the bowl was licked clean
And it’s Christmas time
In Newburgh
And there’s a cat that lives outside
My front door
But I think he’d like it more
If he lived in my apartment
Nice and warm
Small and warm
When I woke up for work the next day
I went back down to fill his cream tray
I didn’t see my new furry friend there
Not a trace. No, not even one single hair.
But when I got to asking around
I learned that his home was across town
And it’s Christmas time
In Newburgh
And my new furry friend
Has a home
But I think he’d like it more
If he lived in my apartment
Nice and warm
Small and warm
He’d dance around the Christmas tree
He’d have all the cream he’d ever need
And I know my heart would just be full
Of that warm stuff…what is it called? Oh yea, wool.
And it’s Christmas time
In Newburgh
And I wish my new friend
Lived with me
‘cause I think he’d like it more
If he lived in my apartment
Nice and warm
Small and warm

The Curious Groundhog
03:20
|
|||
I see a groundhog as I’m riding
My bike home for Christmas this year
His furry brown fur moves upon him
As the wind blows brisk and clear
What’s that he hears in the distance
Footsteps or cycles going by
He gets on his hind legs and looks for
A clear path for him to apply
He just wants it to snow
Abba father can make it so
So he raises his paws to the sky
Some clouds start to fill the day
He looks with hope as they come
But time moves on with now snow
And he knows that there may be none
It’s time for his cubs to start singing
Carols of the one begotten son
The lamb slain before the ages
The bread that leaves many crumbs
He just wants it to snow
Abba father can make it so
So he raises his paws to the sky
A snowy Christmas day
And his cubs will sing “yay
Hallelujah to the one great God”
At last they see some snow flakes
Hundreds and more falling down
More snow than they could hope to count
Giving each cub her own gown
He just wants it to snow
Abba father can make it so
So he raises his paws to the sky
A snowy Christmas day
And his cubs will sing “yay
Hallelujah to the one great God
Hallelujah to the one great God”

The Birds Go a-Caroling
04:57
|
|||
An owl abiding in a tree by night
Keeping watch over shepherds below
When an angel of the Lord appeared
And all around shone a heavenly glow
Peace on earth, goodwill to men
The angel said to them
The Savior of the world is born
And lies in Bethlehem
So as the dark was turned to day
the owl took flight
to spread the tidings of good cheer
of the baby born that night
Peace on earth, hope comes at last
to still creation's groaning
Now come my friends, for fear is passed,
And the birds will go a-caroling!
Come and sing, come and sing
a simple, sacred offering
Songs of hope and joy we'll bring
for Jesus Christ our newborn King
Oh, let the merry music ring!
Now come you cardinals, geese, and loons
With flashing tints and merry tunes
Orioles, jays, and swift swallows
Bring brilliant colors against the snow
Come you sparrows, brown and small
He cares for you and sees when you fall
Woodpecker, oh, bring your drum
We'll sing to your rum-pum-pum-pum-pum!
Come and sing, come and sing
A simple, sacred offering
Songs of hope and joy we'll bring
For Jesus Christ our newborn King
Oh let the merry music ring
Come you tired, and worn, and weak
For He is kind and gentle and meek
Come little birds with broken wings
His love can heal all wounded things
Come mourning dove, so sad and sweet
For a man of sorrows He will be
To bear our sins, and with us to dwell
For he is called Emmanuel
For he is called Emmanuel
