Snowy Day 04:01
Woke up kind of late and looked outside Someone had dusted the whole wide world With powdered sugar from the sky We put on our big boots and went out in the snow And I’m afraid our snowman had no nose ‘Cause we ate all the carrots two days ago Snowy days, oh, snowy days! I’ll wear my yellow sweater ‘Cause the weather outside has never been better Cozy days, oh, these lazy days We’ll sit beside the fire’s blaze Won’t let the time just slip away We’ll make the most of this snowy day We’ll have a snowball fight and a fox and goose chase And I won’t count how many times You “accidentally” hit me in the face Then we’ll come in from the snow And drink huge cups of hot cocoa We’ll sing all of our favorite songs And you can laugh when I dance along Snowy days, oh, snowy days! We’ll read “The Hobbit,” and warm our toes And roast ourselves while we roast marshmallows Cozy days, oh, these lazy days We’ll play some Settlers, you’ll settle my land Steal the sheep right out of my hand Take my ships and sail them away, oh Don’t you love a snowy day?

You showed up to Christmas with last year’s hat on your head Did you have a long day or did you just get out of bed Could you use a meal you look like you need to be fed So come on in and have some eggnog instead It’s good to see you, it’s been all year I see you haven’t lost your cheer Eggnog sounds great Did you hear that Emmett went and moved upstate He’s looking for love but he still hasn’t gone on a date Yeah that old fool thinks he’s following fate Where is he now, he must be running late Everything’s different but also the same That’s just what it is at the holidays This eggnog is great

From this valley you say you are going We will miss your warm home and your smiles For they say you are taking the sunshine That has brightened these highlands awhile You are building a home in the woods Where your winters are foggy and gray It’s a wonderful life that you’re making Still we’re sad that you must go away Come and join us for tea or for supper Won't you let us sing you a song To remember this old Hudson Valley And the home that it’s been for so long If you travel this world, crossing oceans Or retire to your old childhood land Give your word you’ll return to these mountains And rest by this river once again We’ll be spending next Christmas together It’s a hope that will last us the year But we’ll soon trade embraces and smiles And the fond words we’ve been longing to hear

It's snowing at Clinton Street As the heater hums The day will become Evening at Clinton Street She has some friends at Clinton Street A few mismatched mugs Hot tea like a warm hug Held closely like a guarantee That everything will be alright Because life may be tough And sometimes we lack the stuff But good friends, in the dark, are a light But good friends, in the dark, are a light

about

Five years ago, “All Together Now” started at home with an idea and some willing friends. In the intervening years, music has been born, recorded and shared from our homes. We’ve recorded tracks in living rooms, bedrooms, closets, and storage spaces - with frequent kitchen visits for pots of coffee and tea, bowls of soup, and plates of cookies to share and refresh.

So, this year, we found ourselves bringing it back to themes of home for our sixth annual album. Whether it’s enjoying the season snowed in with our loved ones, welcoming friends into our homes for holiday parties, finding new homes and farewelling the old, or simply resting in the comfort of a friend’s cozy living room, there is much to be thankful for at home this time of year.

Here’s to five years of making the Hudson Valley home to cozy, quirky, home-made Christmas music - and here’s to all the warmth that it brings. Thank you to all of you who bring our voices into your own homes to celebrate the season!
